Clinton Speaks on Human Rights at Georgetown

Today, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came to campus to deliver a major speech on the Obama Administration’s 21st Centry plan for Human Rights. Photos below and here is a link to the full speech text. It was very good. More thoughts later, hopefully.
Took a break from writing and studying for finals … and took a long walk down Pennsylvania Avenue from Georgetown to the White House to the Capitol. And for a good 15 minutes in that period of time, I had the entire National Mall from the Washington Monument to the Capitol Dome all to myself – literally not another sole there. Love Christmas in DC.
Sorry it has been a few days – I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with the end of classes, prepping for finals, dealing with life’s lemons, and of course…launching a new, nationwide campaign to engage the Millennial Generation on the issues of our impending fiscal doom!
Today, MillennialDEBT.org launches. It was an idea that sprouted while I was in Chicago at a youth summit convened by the Peterson Foundation and Mobilize.org. Various small donors offered to fund an idea that grew out of new relationships made at the conference – a brilliant concept. There were a half dozen teams or so that got together to try and win the contest (it’s interesting how competition motivates people to do things they otherwise wouldn’t do). So myself and four other people got together and brainstormed what has become MillennialDEBT – it stands for Millennials Demanding and Entitlement and Budget Taskforce.
